At the end of a long day day of moving camp, the finishing touches are put into setting up the Chum. As one man packs down snow to bury the edges of the tent cover, others sit on sleds and relax with cigarettes which glow in the night. Behind them some 30km distant, the light of a gas flare at a natural gas production facility creates the atmospheric optical phenomenon known as a "light pillar" in the icy arctic air.
